Frequently asked questions
FAQ
What is the difference between direct screen printing and screen transfer?
Direct screen printing is a printing technology that prints a given design directly onto textiles via a screen printing frame (1 screen = 1 colour). The screen printing transfer first prints the given design on a special transfer medium (transfer paper or foil) and only then irons it on the presses, usually on materials that cannot be made by direct screen printing (caps, backpacks, trouser pockets, etc.).
What is the difference between DTG and direct screen printing?
DTG (direct digital printing ) prints directly onto textiles using special ink (CMYK colours) and is suitable for low-volume orders with full-colour motifs. Direct screen printing uses screen frames through which the textile is printed, with one screen per colour in the design being set on the machine. This technology is therefore more suitable for larger volumes and is limited to 10 visible colours. Digital technologies, on the other hand, can handle an unlimited number of colours in the same way as a standard paper printer at your home.
How long do the prints last?
All of our prints last approximately 50 - 100 wash cycles depending on the technology selected. We recommend that all printed textiles are ironed on the reverse side and washed at a maximum of 30 C on the reverse side. At the same time, we do not recommend using aggressive detergents and dryer. If necessary, we can provide colours that can withstand industrial washing at 90 C.
What does a separation print mean?
Separation printing is a printing process used for direct screen printing. Its main goal is to split (separate) a multi-coloured design containing shadows and colour gradients into the individual colour components that will be used in the print. The aim is to provide a final product that depicts the actual desired colors, including all shadows and small details.
What print data is needed for DTG technology?
The data supplied should be at least 300 DPI and at a size appropriate to the actual print size. As far as document formats are concerned, suitable ones include - JPG, PDF or PNG. If you need to process or create such data, we can also provide this service for you.
What print data is required for screen printing?
It is best to send the data for direct screen printing in vectors, so that we can ensure the highest quality of printed details. Suitable document formats include PDF or ai. If you need to process or create such data, we can also provide this service for you. If you need to print an image that cannot be delivered in vectors, its resolution should be a minimum of 300DPI at the required print size to ensure the best possible quality.
Is it possible to store screens for future orders?
Unfortunately, no. Used screens are always recycled after the completion of the job and used in future orders.
Can I supply my own embroidery software data?
Yes, it's possible. However, we recommend that you make the embroidery data through our company. This is the only way you will have a guarantee for the completed and final product according to the terms and conditions. We cannot guarantee the quality of the delivered software data.
